The process that the Floyd County School System used in developing the strategic plan was multi- faceted and involved the collaboration of various stakeholders in the community. We utilized existing committees, (e.g., Superintendent's Advisory Council), as well as ad hoc committees (e.g., Charter School Career Academy Committee) for input, research, and feedback. Parents, students, community members, and employees were all involved in developing our strategic plan. Georgia School Boards Association also provided assistance in the form of advisement and training of the use of the Strategic Planning module in EBoard.
The result of this process was the strategic plan, which will serve as the guide for the direction of the school system for the next five years. Understanding that systemic improvement is not static, the plan will grow and adjust to the conditions and needs of the school system. No matter what adjustments are made to the plan, the intent and direction of the plan will always be to provide a quality education for a quality life for the students of Floyd County Schools.
