Check In/Tardies: Students who are late to school are required to check-in at the attendance office. The following are examples of excused tardies: a note from a medical professional, a note from a court official, and a not from a parent/guardian that indicates student illness.
Students who check-in late must bring a note to the office upon arrival to the school. If the student is late because of a dentist or doctor appointment, please be certain to provide a note from the medical office. The student will then receive an Admit Slip that may be used as a pass to enter class. The student should have each teacher sign the Admit Slip.
Ten or more unexcused tardies, early dismissals, or late arrivals may be considered excessive and are subject to a referral to the attendance administrator or social worker.
Early Dismissals: Any student who must leave school early should provide a written note from his or her parent/guardian. The note should be submitted to the Attendance Clerk before 8:00am (you will find this person in the cafeteria before school begins.) An Early Dismissal Slip will then be issued to the student.
Students that are driving themselves from school must provide a phone number where the parent/guardian can be contacted. After the note is verified by a school staff member, the student will be permitted to leave.
Parents/guardians that are picking-up a student at school are required to come into the Attendance Office and sign that student out. If a person other than the parent/guardian is to pick-up the student, he or she must be listed on the student's Emergency Card in order for the student to be released.
