Coosa High continued the school’s streak of success in the Floyd County Schools Academic Decathlon competition at the annual competition held at the Board of Education central office on Monday, January 15, 2010. Coosa High held off a strong challenge from Pepperell High to win the school’s eighth consecutive Floyd County Schools Academic Decathlon. The Coosa High team continued the winning tradition in the local academic competition that started with the team representing CHS in 2003. Coosa High will now represent Floyd County Schools in the state competition in February. The Coosa High team was led by coaches Bill Daughtry and Dr. Chris Babb. The Coosa team finished first with 23,750 points, Pepperell High placed second, and Model High was third.
Luke Weeks, Coosa High, was once again the top individual performer in the Academic Decathlon. This was Weeks’ fourth consecutive year to take top honors or share the title.
